Bitwarden Authenticator is Bitwarden's official app for adding two-factor verification to an account. Through this system, you can log in to a service using your username and password, but you will also need to enter an additional code that this app generates. Without this code, you won't be able to access the account. This extra verification step means that if someone were to get your email and password, they would still not be able to access your account and steal it.
How to add an account on Bitwarden Authenticator
Adding an account on Bitwarden Authenticator is very easy. All you have to do is navigate to the settings of the service you want to secure with 2FA. There you will see a QR code, and all you have to do is scan it with your Android's camera. That QR code hides the unique "secret code" for your account. You can add as many accounts as you like. If you have too many and you are finding it difficult to find a specific one, there is a search bar at the top where you can enter the name of the platform you need.
No Internet connection required
As it uses this same secret code to generate temporary codes, your Android device does not need to be connected to the Internet to be able to get a code. Each code is six digits and a new one is created every 30 seconds. To copy a code, just tap on the name of the account and it will be automatically copied to the clipboard.
Export and import backups
It is very important to back up your Bitwarden Authenticator two-factor verification data. The app has an option to export all added accounts in JSON format. To import them, you can use JSON and CSV files.
Download the Bitwarden Authenticator APK if you want greater security for your online accounts thanks to this two-factor verification app.
